Atılım University and Rivier University Have Become Educational Partners

Atılım University has signed an educational cooperation agreement with Rivier University in New Hampshire, USA. The agreement which was signed by Bülent Temel from the Department of Economics and which provided opportunity for all the students and academic staff of Atılım University to work in the USA for a period of one year, came into effect on 12 April 2013 with a signing ceremony at Rivier University.
Prof. Dr. Günhan Paşamehmetoğlu, the Councelor of the Board of Trustees of Atılım University, and Provost Prof. Dr. Hasan U. Akay represented Atılım University and the President Paula Marie Buley and Vice-President Dr. Mark Meehan who is also responsible for the Global Cooperation represented Rivier University in the signing ceremony. Meehan, in his speech, expressed his pleasure and honour for becoming educational partners with Atılım University which is an outstanding higher educational institution in Turkey. He added that “This agreement will bind our academic staff and students to a contemporary institution with highly developed technology which is situated in one of the most strategic places in the world and has equipped”. After Dr. Meehan, Prof. Dr. Hasan Akay took the floor and expressed his pleasure for signing such an important agreement and wished that it would be a long-term agreement. He also pointed out that the students and academics especially at the Faculties of Management, Engineering and Arts and Sciences will benefit from this agreement and from the opportunities such as joint conferences and projects. Akay also noted that the first activity to be performed within the framework of this agreement will be an international political economy course prepared by Mark Meehen and Bülent Temel and will be accessed through video-conference system in the 2013-2014 Fall Semester.
