Our Athletes Add Medals and Trophies to Academic Achievements of AU

Dominating a multitude of universities with athletic majors with our achievements; Atılım University participates in the competitions by the Turkish University Sports Federation in 16 fields of sports.
Our 248 athletes represent Atılım University in 28 teams, under the supervision of the Directorate of Sports.

Our Badminton team:
Our team ranked 9th in the Badminton Regional Tournament by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TUSF) in Ordu, hosting 185 athletes from 27 universities. These games marked the first participation by Atılım University in the Women’s Solos category in Badminton; and our national athlete Sude Naz Baysal came second among 47 athletes.
In the Unileague Badminton Super League Games at Erzincan University between May 8-12, 2023, and hosting 60 athletes from 8 universities, our national athlete Sude Naz Baysal came 4th in the solo games for women.
- In the 18th Angora Cup, our undefeated team earned the championship title.
- Our team had a successful run in the 11th Aslı Tarım Badminton Tournament by METU, coming:
- 2nd in Team Games
- 1st in Women’s Solos
- 3rd in Women’s Solos
- 1st in Mixed Doubles
- 2nd in Mixed Doubles
- 2nd in Men’s Doubles
Our Basketball team:
Women’s Basketball:
- Our team came third among its group in the Unileague Women’s Basketball Regional League Tournament by the TUSF, hosted at the Ahlatlıbel Campus Gym by Atılım University between November 29 - December 15, 2022.
- Our team came third in the 17th Ayva Cup by Bilkent University between April 24-30.
Men’s Basketball:
- Our team was the undefeated leader among its group in the Unileague Men’s Basketball Regional League Tournament by the TUSF, hosted at the Ahlatlıbel Campus Gym by Atılım University between November 29 - December 16, 2022; becoming eligible to compete in the Super League Promotion Games.
- Qualifying for the play-off games of Men’s Super League by the TUSF; our team finished as the 2nd in Ankara in the regional league in the tournament hosted by Çankaya University.
- Our team came 4th in the Unileague Superleague Promotion Tournament, hosting universities from various cities of Turkey at the Atılım University Ahlatlıbel Campus Gym between May 5 and 12.
- Our team came third in the 17th Ayva Cup by Bilkent University between April 24-30.
Our 3x3 Basketball team:
Women’s 3x3 Basketball:
- Coming 2nd among its group, our team had a successful run in the Unileague 3x3 Basketball Tournament by the TUSF.
- In the 18th Angora Cup by Bilkent University, our undefeated team earned the championship title.
- Coming 2nd in the 3x3 Unileague Turkey Championship in the 2021-2022 season, our team was deemed eligible to play in the European University Championship in Hungary/ Debrecen this year between July 12-21. We are proud of this achievement, a first in the history of Atılım University. Good luck to our team en route to Europe in the Championship.
Men’s 3x3 Basketball:
- With 5 wins out of 5 in its 3x3 Basketball group games in the Unileauge by the Turkish University Sports Federation, our team earned the eligibility to participate in the Turkish Championship as the undefeated champions, after a very competitive final game.
- The team made us proud in the tournament, a game of which was held in Ankara, where only 2 out of 22 universities from all over Turkey earned the eligibility to participate in the Turkey 3x3 Basketball Championship Finals. Our team came 3rd of its group in the finals in İstanbul.
- Our team came 3rd in the 18th Angora Cup by Bilkent University.
Our Dragon Boat Team:
- Our team stole the spotlight after coming 2nd in Turkey in the Mixed Dragon Boat category as a first-timer in the Fetih Sporfest Turkey Championship at the Golden Horn, İstanbul, between May 29-31; by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
Our Fencing team:
- Our athlete Eylül Deniz Türkkan ranked 3rd in Turkey in the Women's Fencing Foil category in the Fencing Turkey Championship at Ankara University between November 29 - December 16, 2022, by the Turkish University Sports Team.
- On the first day of the Unileague Fencing Turkey Championship, our athlete ranked 3rd in Turkey in the women's foil competitions, and we came 17th in the men's epee competitions, with 38 athletes competing, on the same day. Our athlete ranked 3rd in Turkey in the women's sword category.
Our Handball team:
- Our Men’s Handball team came the third in its group with 2 wins and a loss in its three matches in the Handball Reigonal League of 8 teams, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, at Isparta Süleyman Demirel University between December 19-23, 2022.
Our Karting team:
- In the Unileague Karting Turkey Championship by the Turkish University Sports Federation; our university ranked the 2nd in Turkey among 12 universities in the Stage 1 race (Mühye), and the 3rd in Turkey in the Stage 2 race (Mühye); ranking the 2nd overall and making us proud.
Our Rugby Team:
- Representing Atılım University in the Rugby Unileague First League in the Season of 2022-2023 and playing among 36 teams, our team ended its run in the quarter finals.
Our Rowing team:
- Our team stole the spotlight after coming 2nd in Turkey in the Sea Rowing 2X and Sea Rowing 4X categories in the Fetih Sporfest Turkey Championship at the Golden Horn, İstanbul, between May 29-31; by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
Our Table Tennis team:
- Our team participated in the Table Tennis Turkey Championship by the Turkish University Sports Federation, hosted by Kırklareli University between May 17-21, and had a successful run, becoming eligible to leave its group.
- Our men’s team came third, and our women’s team came second in the 18th Angora Cup by Bilkent University.
Our Archery team:
- In the Archery Turkey Championship by the Turkish University Sports Federation that took place between June 12-16 at Eskişehir Technical University with 42 universities and 122 athletes; Atılım University came 2nd among Turkey in Adult Men’s Roller Bow
2nd among Turkey in Adult Mixed-Gender Roller Bow, 5th among Turkey in Adult Men’s Roller Bow, and 4th in Turkey in Classic Bow Teams.
Our Beach Volleyball Team:
- Our women's team made it to the quarter-finals among 19 teams, and our men's team was among the last 12 teams standing; representing us successfully in the Beach Volleyball Turkey Championship by the Turkish University Sports Federation between June 20-24 in Izmir.
Our Tennis Team:
- In the Tennis Regional League games by the Turkish University Sports Federation at Bilkent University and METU between May 29 - June 3, our men's team came third, and our women’s team came 4th, representing us successfully.
- Our men’s team came third, and our women’s team came second in the 18th Angora Cup by Bilkent University.
Our Volleyball team:
Women’s Volleyball: Our Women’s Volleyball team came the second in the Volleyball Reigonal League of 6 teams, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, at the University of Health Sciences between December 6-22, 2022.
Men’s Volleyball: Our Men’s Volleyball team came the third in the Volleyball Reigonal League of 5 teams, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, at Middle East Techical University in December 7-23, 2022.
Our Swimming team:
In the Unileague Swimming Turkey Championship by the Turkish University Sports Federation between May 4 - 12 at Gazi University; our women’s team came 7th among 31 universities, and our men’s team came 14th among 38 universities; and overall, we came 9th among 41 universities, ending the tournament successfully.
- Kadınlarda 31 üniversite arasında 7.
- Erkeklerde ise 38 üniversite arasında 14. olmuş ve
- Genel klasmanda 41 üniversite arasında 9. olarak turnuvayı tamamlamıştır.
- Our women’s team came 2nd, and our men’s team came 3rd in the 18th Angora Cup by Bilkent University; with 19 individual rankings and 6 flag race rankings, and the overall ranking of 3rd.
Atılım University Sports Club:
Men’s Volleyball team:
Our Atılım University Sports Club Men's Volleyball Team participated in the 2022-2023 Volleyball Season Adults Regional League in its year of foundation, completing its group games without defeat; qualifying for the final group, and finishing the season as the 3rd in Ankara.
Women’s Volleyball team:
Our Atılım University Sports Club Women's Volleyball Team participated in the 2022-2023 Volleyball Season Adults Regional League, completing its group games without defeat; qualifying for the final group, and finishing the season as the 4th in Ankara.
Our Rowing team:
In the Turkish Academy League Championship; Atılım University Sports Club finished its first race as the 6th in the Women’s Steered 4x (c) Category.

Our Men’s Basketball team:
Our Atılım University Sports Club Men's Basketball Team participated in the 2022-2023 Ankara Basketball League, and made the play-offs.
Our Women’s Basketball team:
Our Atılım University Sports Club Women's Basketball Team came third in the 2022-2023 Ankara Adults Women's Basketball League.
