We Rank in the Top Five of the THE Young Universities Rankings

The results of the THE Young Universities Rankings of 2020, prepared by the British ranking institution Times Higher Education since 2012 are announced.
Having received the spotlight among the rankings in 2017 for the first time, our university now ranks the fifth among 12 state universities, and 11 foundation universities.
The number of Turkish universities to make the list rose to 23, from 14 last year, with 9 universities in total of 5 state universities and 4 foundation universities listed for the first time. The countries with the most universities making the list for this year are, respectively, Britain with 36, Spain with 27, France and India each with 26 universities. The number of universities rose to 414 from 351 last year.
Times Higher Education (THE) compiles data and questionnaire results from universities every March, and merges them with the data from the Scopus database from May 1, to create a Global Universities Rankings in September. The young universities methodology of THE is the same as the one used for global rankings; however, the weights of items are recalibrated to reflect the mission profiles of young universities.
