THE 200 Under 50 rankings, prepared by the English Ranking Organization Times Higher Education to rank the universities younger than 50 years since 2012, have been announced. Most of the universities ranking in the top 500 are older than 50 years old. Therefore, a large number of old universities are included in the top 500 in the world and young universities have difficulties in finding themselves a place in the top. Young universities rankings have been announced since 2012 in order to rate the performance of young universities better.
Celebrating its 20th year of anniversary in 2016, Atilim University managed to rank in the top 500 in Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities rankings. In addition, Atilim University ranked 98th according to the results announced in THE Young Universities Summit organized at the campus of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia in April 2017. 5 Turkish universities were included in this ranking.
While ranking the universities younger than 50 years, THE Ranking System depends on 13 different indicators under 5 main titles including Teaching, Research, References, Industrial Income and Internationalization also used in world university rankings.
