MUDEK Accreditation of the Departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Industrial Engineering Has Been Extended

Having accredited by MUDEK for 2 years before, the departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Industrial Engineering were subjected to mid-term evaluation and their accreditation were extended for three years until 30.09.2019.

ABOUT MUDEK

Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MUDEK) is a non-governmental organization operating for the purpose of contributing to the enhancement of quality of engineering education in Turkey by means of the accreditation and evaluation of and providing information services for engineering education programs in different disciplines.

MÜDEK was established in 2002 as an independent platform with the name of Engineering Evaluation Board, by the Council of Engineering Deans (MDK) composed of the deans of the faculties providing engineering education in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, in order to draw up and apply a detailed program for evaluation of the undergraduate engineering programs of these faculties. It became an association in 2007.

Other than the administrative staff of MUDEK, all people taking part in the boards, committees, study groups and accreditation evaluation teams of MUDEK work on a volunteer basis without receiving any remuneration whatsoever.

 

MUDEK,

  • Started evaluation of engineering programs in 2003;
  • Became a member of (ENAEE - European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) on November 17, 2006;
  • Continued to use the shorty name of MUDEK, was transformed into a non-governmental organization entitled Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs and acquired legal entity on January 25, 2007;
  • Was officially recognized on November 16, 2007 by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)  as a national quality insurance organization focused on national, sectoral and program competences in the engineering programs of the higher education institutions and, this recognition for a duration of five years was renewed on February 1, 2013 for five more years;
  • Was authorized by ENAEE to give EUR-ACE Label to those engineering education programs it will accredit as from January 21, 2009,
  • Acquired Provisional Status for IEA (International Engineering AllianceWashington Accord on June 25, 2011; and
  • Became Full Member Signatory of IEA-Washington Accord on June 15, 2012.
