Established in 2010, and aiming to train the students with the capacity to meet the demands of the 21st Century, the Chemical Engineering Department provides a sound chemistry background through intense coursework and laboratory practices, along with fundamental courses such as Physics and Mathematics within the freshman and sophomore years, following preparatory English courses.In the final two years of the program, engineering courses are offered with laboratory practice and state-of-the-art simulation programs, combining theory with practice.

Students with an interest in research may participate in the research projects of faculty members in a variety of fields, ranging from nanomaterial production to drug design, from polymer science to biochemistry. During their senior year, students are prepared for professional life after their graduation through process design projects, developing communication, organization, teamwork and leadership skills. Atılım University graduates Chemical Engineers with an ability to design a process from raw materials to the end product, as well as the skills to perform research and development

Mission

To train innovative, competitive and entrepreneur chemical engineers who have acquired advanced knowledge about chemistry and chemical engineering, keep up with the scientific and technologic developments, not a keeper of knowledge but the owner of it, are able to make one from nothing, and a thousand from one by using their engineering knowledge, are aware of the consequences of the social, environmental and global effects of the knowledge they create.
