Trip to the National Food Reference Laboratory

On 24.04.2025, a field trip to the National Food Reference Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry took place as part of the NUT204 and NUT206 courses. During this technical excursion, the students of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics observed the analytical methods, laboratory infrastructure and quality control processes that play a crucial role in ensuring food safety in our country. The students learnt about Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Pesticide Extraction, Liquid Chromatography, Histology, Dioxin Laboratory: Extraction, Additive Adulteration Origin, Biotechnology and GMO, Microbiology, Mineral: Extraction Laboratories and had the opportunity to learn about microbiological analysis, pesticide residue testing, food additive control and sampling procedures. The students gained an awareness of the relationship between food safety, public health and relevant legislation; they also gained a valuable experience that will contribute to the development of their professional vision.
