News From Our Chess Tournament!

We had our 2nd Chess Tournament for our staff and students, in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports, the Directorate of Cultural and Social Affairs, and the Atılım Chess Team. Run as a Swiss-system tournament timed in 5+3 and played in 6 rounds, the tournament saw 22 participants. The stakes remained high up until the last round; and the top 3 players were:
1st: Altay Tevfik AKIN (Department of Computer Engineering)
2nd: Şafak YAPRAK (Department of Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance)
3rd: Magsud Najafli (Aerospace Engineering)
We congratulate the top three, and thank everyone for their participation and efforts.
