Important Announcement on The Obligation to Obtain an ORCID
17.06.2020
A study has been initiated in order to enable bibliographic monitoring of books, articles, congress declarations and all kinds of scientific publications resulting from the graduate degree theses and scientific activities at our University, as well as to deem such elements accessible for service under open access, within the framework of the Open Science and Open Access studies by the Directorate of the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK). With this study, the need has emerged for the utilization of the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) among the identification numbers which may be obtained free of charge, to ensure standardization in the infrastructure of YÖK Open Science and Open Access System. Therefore, thesis graduate degree students and academicians are obliged to obtain an ORCID number, and match their previous publications with their ORCID number.
In this regard, and during their meeting dated 13.05.2020, no. 30, the YÖK Executive Board has resolved that faculty members and thesis graduate degree students shall be obliged to use their Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) number to ensure that their graduate degree theses and articles, congress and symposium declarations, books and all kinds of scientific publications are monitored.
Kindly submitted to the attention of our Faculty Members, and Graduate Degree Students.
