Atılım University Climate Ambassador Aleyna Küçükcan attended the Climate Ambassadors Training Camp.

Aleyna Küçükcan, an undergraduate student in Energy Systems Engineering and the President of the Energy and Climate Change Student Club at Atılım University, participated in the training camp held in Antalya as part of the Climate Ambassadors Movement, executed by the Directorate of Climate Change under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye.

The camp was held between February 9-12, and saw young people from all over the country learn more on combating climate change and had them encouraged to develop sustainable solutions at both local and national levels, as well as taking the lead in climate actions.

Throughout the camp, Deputy Director of Climate Change Orhan Solak accompanied the young participants as they had the opportunity to actively engage in decision-making processes and were informed about the latest developments regarding climate change.

Organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Climate Change, UNICEF, and SANKO Holding, the training camp included capacity-building programs designed to enhance the competencies of the young attendees in climate policies. Topics included the scientific foundations of climate change, adaptation policies, global climate negotiations, carbon pricing, and green financing.

Through these training sessions, participants strengthened their knowledge and skills in climate policies, equipping themselves to take more effective actions at the local level.

Atılım University congratulates Aleyna Küçükcan for her contribution in raising environmental awareness, as we reaffirm our belief that our students will continue to take active roles in such significant initiatives.
