The primary objective of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Atılım University is to train interior architects and environmental designers who, with an awareness that the discipline of Interior Architecture/Interior Architecture and Environmental Design encompasses not only individual-oriented professional activities but also activities closely related to public safety, health, comfort, and well-being, aim to enhance the quality of life in spaces. Graduates are expected to develop contemporary and alternative solutions that are sensitive to user needs, environmentally conscious, research-oriented, creative, and original, while adhering to ethical values and embracing responsibility.

In line with this objective, the educational goals (EGs) of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design are as follows:

  • EG1. To make design and construction decisions with a global perspective, taking into account geographical differences.
  • EG2. To collaborate effectively on a multidisciplinary level, both nationally and internationally.
  • EG3. To possess knowledge of regulations and standards, while being sensitive to professional ethics.
  • EG4. To utilize appropriate research methods to generate alternative and holistic design solutions.
  • EG5. To use technology in an original manner through various communication techniques.
  • EG6. To have a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between basic building construction and interior structures, and to produce detailed solutions within this scope.
  • EG7. To effectively apply the relationship between design elements and the influences of psychology, sociology, philosophy, architecture, and art in design solutions.
  • EG8. To exhibit an attitude that is sensitive to cultural heritage, as well as historical and natural environments.
  • EG9. To design sustainable interior spaces that are user-centered and aimed at improving spatial comfort and quality of life, influenced by the components of physical environmental conditions.
  • EG10. To possess an awareness of lifelong learning and contributing to the field, fostering continuous professional development.

Through these educational goals, the department aims to nurture responsible and competent Interior Architects and Environmental Designers equipped with the skills and mindset necessary to excel in their field.
