ATILIM ÜNİVERSİTESİ

Atılım University, a foundation university with public legal personality, was established in Ankara under the provisions of Law No. 2547 on foundation higher education institutions on July 15, 1997, by the Atılım Foundation with the aim to become “a university that provides quality education, produces science and technology, conducts research, and sheds light on the future of the country”, and it has made determined strides to achieve and further this goal for over twenty-eight years.

Atılım University is one of the leading institutions in Türkiye in terms of accreditation, one of the most concrete indicators of quality assurance in higher education. Under the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) implemented by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC), the university has been granted their “Full Accreditation” for five years, making it one of the first six foundation universities in the country to receive this recognition. In addition to the overall accreditation, more than twenty programs within the university have also been accredited through various accreditation organizations.

Atılım University has been selected by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) as the university to specialize in “Hydrogen and Fuel Cells” within the scope of the “Priority Areas Mission.” As per the “Competency Analysis of Universities by Field”, published by TÜBİTAK, and based on complete or undergoing externally-funded projects, as well as the number of researchers and research groups within the university working in relevant fields, the leading scientific research areas of the University are Energy, Chemistry, and Material Sciences.

As stated in the educational policies of Atılım University, one of our paramount goals is to train graduates with research competence. In this regard, the university has developed special research support programs for students (such as the Undergraduate Research Projects Program – LAP, and the Researcher Career Support Program for Atılım University Students – ATAK).

Committed to achieving recognition in national and international rankings, Atılım University has been consistently listed in the Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index, prepared by TÜBİTAK, since its first announcement in 2012. In the updated ranking for 2023, the University ranked 28th among all universities in Türkiye.

Atılım University has unique programs and mechanisms that align with its research policies, support researchers' R&D processes and outcomes, emphasize the importance of universal scientific contributions, and encourage the continuity of such activities, all of which are regularly updated in line with current needs and objectives.

With its modern campus life, research-oriented education, industry collaborations, and accredited programs, Atılım University hosts more than 1000 international students from over 60 countries.

Atılım University aims to nurture individuals who bring more to life in various aspects, including science, culture, arts, and sports. With various support programs in different fields, the university seeks to promote, and amplify, the values of our students among our stakeholders.
