About Us

About the Department

The Department of Nursing of the School of Health Sciences of Atılım University was established in 2018. The Department of Nursing of Atılım University offers the first nursing undergraduate program in Ankara completely in English.

The Nursing Department aims to train nurses who are able to assess the health requirements of individuals, families, and communities with a holistic approach; and nurses who are committed to evidence-based knowledge, ethical principles, human rights, and professional values. Our program aims to develop students' skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, clinical decision-making, effective communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Our curriculum is executed in line with national and international requirements in the field of healthcare, as well as current health policies, scientific advancements, technology, and stakeholder opinions. Our department offers theoretical education, basic skills laboratory practices, simulation-based learning, case analyses, and clinical applications with a holistic approach to education.

Our basic skills laboratory and simulation center provide students with the opportunity to develop their professional knowledge and skills in safe learning environments, and prepare themselves for actual clinical applications. The language of instruction at our department is English which is a factor that contributes to the development of our students in terms of professional foreign language proficiency, helping them stay updated in the international field of health.

With our expert academic staff, our department supports students' research, lifelong learning, innovation, and information technology skills. Our goal is to train individuals who are able to provide safe, high-quality, holistic, and evidence-based nursing care as effective members of healthcare teams in national and international health institutions.

Message from the Head of Department

Doğum ve Kadın Hastalıkları Hemşireliği lisansüstü programı, dünyada ve ülkemizde kadın sağlığı, anne ve çocuk sağlığı, kadının güçlendirilmesi ile toplum sağlığının geliştirilmesine yönelik kuramsal ve uygulama bilgilerini içermektedir. Bu bilgi ve uygulamalar, ülkemizin de gereksinimleri içerisinde yer alan kadın sağlığının iyileştirilmesi ve toplumsal sorunların (kadının toplum içerisindeki konumu, kültürel farklılıkların hemşirelik bakımına entegrasyonu ve kadın hakları, sağlığa erişim vb.) çözülmesi gibi konularda anahtar bir rol oynayacaktır.
