Course Objectives The course focuses on representations of themes and topics in main genres of literature, novel, short story, drama and poetry. The course aims to develop the knowledge of the students about various representations of the selected themes and topics in these genres by analyzing some selected works from each genre. The students are expected to analyze and compare the representations of selected themes and topics in the selected works in novel, short story, drama and poetry.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • are able to identify “representations” of themes and topics in the main genres,
  • become familiar with “representation” with a focus on the characteristics in selected works,
  • are able to compare the works with each other in terms of representation of selected themes and topics,
  • are able to discuss on various texts in terms of their form, style and meaning.
