Course Objectives This course aims to equip the student about fundamental manufacturing processes, metal casting and metal forming applications.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
Course Content Theory of casting process. Machine tools and machining operations. Mechanics of metal cutting. Temperatures in metal cutting. Tool life and tool wear. Cutting fluids and surface roughness. Economics of metal cutting. Machine tool vibrations. Solidification of metals, riser and gate design, metal fluidity, mold materials and design, mechanism of cutting processes, friction and tool wear in cutting, economics of cutting, CNC techniques.
