Course Objectives The main objective of the course is to provide the students with a comprehensive introduction to a range of theoretical approaches to translation, particularly studying the contemporary, outstanding scholars through some of their important works, including the articles written by Turkish scholars.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students will study the contemporary translation theories and their contribution to translation studies.
  • To further develop their translation methods and skills through the theories.
  • To see the common and different aspects of the theories.
  • To develop translation criticism skills.
Course Content Historical review on the evolution of translation theory from the classical period to modern times; a survey of contemporary translation theory.
