Course Objectives This course is designed to give an overall view of various translation fields for students. The main object of the course is to enable the students to understand and develop their translation skills in different types of texts and to cope with the specific challenges of these texts.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To improve the students' advanced translation skills on various types of texts.
  • To gain necessary skills to find solutions to the difficulties of translation that are peculiar to these various texts.
  • To improve the students' language and terminology knowledge on various types of subjects.
  • To have practice on different levels of translation such as (Analyzing the text-type, have research and terminology study on the subject matter, translation and editing)
  • To gain insight about the process of analysis of literary texts.
Course Content Translation of lengthy texts on especially specialised fields such as law, medicine, science and social sciences; domain-specific terminology study in various fields.
