Course Objectives The aim of this course is to provide students with some degree of expertise in research so that they attain some skills to conduct and evaluate research and formulate the obtained results in an academic report.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • attain skills of doing research for a given topic
  • are able to develop a thesis statement and write an academic essay
  • attain techniques of summarizing, paraphrasing, quoting from another source
  • are able to use the MLA format
  • are able to use sources effectively
Course Content General characteristics of academic paragraphs and essays that are coherent, cohesive and well-organized as well as the skills of doing research for a given topic and the basics of MLA citation rules.
