Course Objectives Under what psychological, ethnic and geographical influences the legal rules in force in the past were formed; It is to investigate which legal problem to solve and which need it was put to meet and to what extent it can solve these purposes.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Gains information about historical Turkish Law.
  • By examining the public development process of Turkish Law, a perspective is gained in terms of method, theory and reasoning.
  • By comparing Contemporary Turkish Law and establishing common contexts, it is aimed to gain the student's ability to interpret and historical law perspective.
Course Content The Turkish Law before Islam, Islamic Public and Private Law, Public Law and the organisation of the Ottoman Empire until the Term of Tanzimat, development of Turkish Law after Tanzimat and the step to the Republican Law
