Course Objectives | The main objective of this course is to describe the revolutionist approaches in art and design world that was started in the 19th century Europe and America. Since the ideas and the contemporary art movements were occurred under the light of those revolutionist approaches, the historical background is crucial for this course. Analyzing of these art movements is beneficial for the design students in their projects. |

Course Content | The course focuses on the transformation in the world of art and design in Europe and America from the second half of the 19th century onwards. It covers all art movements that have emerged since the Impressionism Movement and their impact on contemporary art. The process of transformation from classical to contemporary art is explained from a world historical, socio cultural, sociological, and philosophical perspective. |
