Course Objectives Turkish Literature is a very old and very powerful literature. Reading the myths and epics that Turks have in order to understand the value of this literature, which started with the oral cultural tradition, is the initial step. The main aim of the course is to introduce Turkish mythology and to read the works. It is aimed to raise the awareness of students to become aware of the literary heritage they have.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The students who succeeded in this course; • To meet the first examples of Turkish literature, • Taking over the oral cultural heritage partially, • To illustrate that Turkish mythology is in the same position with the mythologies of other nations, • To be able to make sense of beliefs, stereotypes and symbols from the past, • To interpret the traces of legends and epics today, • To be able to read social changes through literary works.
