Course Objectives The main purpose of the course is to provide students with a strong theoretical and practical grounding in the principles and practices of analytical chemistry. For this, the basic principles of analytical chemistry and the handling of the obtained data are discussed in detail. This course also aims to develop advanced laboratory skills in analytical chemistry.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • • To learn the nature of Analytical Chemistry and the calculations used in Analytical Chemistry
  • • To learn the types and nature of the error in chemical analysis
  • • Develop appropriate strategies to overcome problems encountered in the quantification of sample species and learn proper statistical data treatment and evaluation methods.
  • • To learn about aqueous solutions and chemical equilibrium and the factors that affect chemical equilibrium
  • • To learn the types and principles of titrations in Analytical Chemistry
  • • To learn the basics of spectrochemical methods
  • • To know qualitative and quantitative methods and to do experiments in this direction in the laboratory
  • • Gain practical applications of analytical methods with laboratory activities
Course Content Introduction, calculations, types of errors, statistics, gravimetric and titrimetric methods, equilibrium calculations, titrations, evaluation of titration curves, aqueous solution chemistry, related laboratory program.
