Course Objectives This course will introduce health psychology, which is concerned with the effects of behavioral, psychological and social factors on health and illness. Students will be provided with an overview of the current issues in health psychology; descriptions and psychosocial interventions of stress, pain and chronic illnesses; and health behaviors (such as smoking and exercising).
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Learn the specialization areas of health psychology
  • Familiarize with the behavioral psychological and social factors associated with health and illness
  • Define, assess and track changes in health behaviors
  • Increase self-awareness of their own health behaviors
  • Learn the theories related to health
Course Content The effects of behavioral, psychological and social factors on health and illness, descriptions and psychosocial interventions of stress, pain and chronic illnesses, and health behaviors such as smoking and exercising
