Course Objectives To give students information on brain development and motor performance, body image, motor development periods, factors affecting development, physical growth, factors affecting growth and evaluation of physical growth, the evaluation of motor development, activities to support motor development, child-specific exercise programs that can be applied at home-school and outdoor areas, and environmentally regulatory issues.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • At the end of the course, students will have information about physical growth and motor development processes, and will gain knowledge and experience about motor development assessment and supportive studies of children.
  • He/she explains the basic concepts and principles associated with growth and development, lists the factors affecting growth and development, explains individual differences in growth and development, and recognizes developmental risks during infancy.
  • He/she explains the concepts of body perception, summarizes the factors affecting body image, discusses approaches to support body image, and recognizes problem situations related to body perception and develops solutions.
  • He/she explains the concepts related to physical growth, summarizes the factors affecting physical growth, explains physical growth by age, discusses the relationship between physical growth and development areas.
  • He/she explains the basic concepts of motor development, lists the factors affecting motor development, explains gross and fine motor development, explains the stages of motor development according to age.
  • He/she makes motor development assessments, notices the problems related to physical growth and motor development, explains that he/she will direct them to the relevant professionals.
  • He/she provides supportive suggestions for physical growth and motor development in line with the needs of the child, prepares and implements programs that support motor development in line with the needs of the child, provides counseling to families according to the needs of children on physical growth and motor development.
