Course Objectives | To teach patriotism to students; to make them aware of significance of Ataturk’s principles and raise them as loyal subjects to these principles; to give them insight into the processes of modern democratic administrative modes by improving their understanding of democracy. To enable the students to acquire the appropriate attitude, behaviour and skills to be able to find solutions to contemporary problems against the backdrop of Ataturk’s principles. |

Course Content | French Revolution; structure and geopolitic positioning of Ottoman Empire, reasons of its decline; Westernization movements, First and Second Constitutional Monarchy declarations; Libya and Balkan wars; First World War; period before the War of Independence, congresses, National Pact, establishment of Turkish Grand National Assembly. |
