Course Objectives In this course, in addition to labor law in sports, taxation law, intellectual rights and sports public law, there are also the effects and the functions of super nations' institutions, sponsorship, doping, criminal and legal responsibilities in sports, sports judiciary and laws specific to certain sports types. Together with foreign legislation and legal decisions, Turkish Sport legislation and administrative construction are also among the subjects of this course.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To recognize the legal and the professional aspects of sports
  • Analyze the legal dimensions of the nationwide and international effects of sport events, such as hooliganism and and acts of violence which spread beyond playing fields

  • To be able to discuss the economical and sociological dimensions of sports
  • To offer proposals to solve the problems in practice, related to the disputes arising from sports
  • To examine the institutions specialized in sports law
Course Content The economical and sociological dimensions of sports; the characteristics of sports business and the role of the media;the law of sports, the regulations on or related to sports, the resolution of disputes arising from sports.
