Course Objectives As well known, the importance of the concept of human rights, which means the restriction of the state authority in favor of individuals, gradually increases. The minimum standards of human rights are the primary consideration in accessing global and regional inter-governmental organizations, such as the European Union. Finally the course aims at providing the students with adequate methodological understanding which will enable them to understand the fundamentals of diverse theoretical approaches on public freedoms and relevance its’ international human rights systems.

Course Content The technical analyses of the various systems; the establishment, protection, and promotion of human rights; current human rights standards; global instruments, such as general and specific human rights covenants adopted by UN and regional instruments, such as ECoHR.
