Course Objectives The aim of this course is to ensure that students have knowledge of the tasks, authorities and responsibilities of the school health nurse.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Interpret the basic philosophy of School Health Nursing.
  • Describe the tasks and responsibilities of School Health Nursing.
  • Identify the primary health problems of students and staff working at school and develop recommendations that reduce health risks.
  • Establish a health education program to improve and protect the health of the individual, family and school community.
Course Content The historical development of school health services, school health team, school health nursing in Turkey, the school community on school health services, safe school environment, food safety, common health problems in school-age children, risky behaviors, children with special needs and their families, school health screenings, emergencies in school, health education and school health improvement programs.
