Course Objectives Comparative Politics, which is one of the main fields of Political Science, and Comparative State Orders examined in this context, is a field that evaluates political systems between countries by considering time intervals. The comparison method provides important benefits in understanding the functioning of political systems, their positive and shortcomings. Based on Sartori's statement "A person who says he knows only one country does not know any country", this course aims to teach students to analyze the important concepts, principles and issues of Political Science comparatively.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Acquires familiarity with the scope and function of the comparative field and the approach of this discipline to the forms of government and political culture in the world.
  • Evaluates the basic concepts of Political Science comparatively.
Course Content Political regimes; authoritarianism; political culture; political parties and party systems; elections; civil society.
