Course Objectives •To develop a range of social research methods, techniques and skills and how they have been used to address particular research questions in economics; •The contrasting epistemological perspectives that underpin social science research; •Survey design and analysis; •A range of quantitative methods of analysis; •A range of qualitative research methods; •Ethical problems and issues related to social research, and management research in particular; •Project planning and development; •How research in various areas of economics have developed
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To formulate adequate research questions and design appropriate research
  • To collect data by using a variety of methods
  • To analyze both qualitative and quantitative data by using computer-based skills.
  • Critically evaluate a research and that of other social scientists
Course Content Science and research; dimensions of research; theory and research; the meanings of methodology; literature review and ethical issues; qualitative and quantitative research designs; qualitative and quantitative measurement; qualitative and quantitative sampling; qualitative data analysis; quantitative data analysis.
