The course covers mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques, the science of well-being, and emotional intelligence concepts in a holistic approach, providing theoretical and practical knowledge aimed at improving students' stress management, emotion regulation, and mental health skills.
ART209 - Contemporary Art and Entrepreneurship (3 + 0) 4
The course examines the organization of contemporary art as an investment tool in global markets and its cultural economic dimension. The co-ordination of events such as international institutions and organizations, art fairs, biennials, triennials, etc., their socio-economic contribution to the relevant cities, and the rela-tionship between art and business are discussed. Information is provided on creative initiatives in various sectors, incentives, sponsor-ships, etc.
ART222 - History of Jazz (3 + 0) 4
The history of music before 1900`s; Blues and Ragtime music genres; the impacts of musical, social and cultural structures of jazz music in New Orleans before its emergence in the region; main jazz movements starting from the very first Dixieland music to Fusion jazz movement today.
ART272 - International Sign Language (3 + 0) 4
The importance of international sign language in communica-tion is discussed. Students are provided with infor-mation on understanding hearing-impaired individu-als and effectively communicating with them. Basic skills required for using international sign language are taught.
ART273 - Art of Manga and Anime (3 + 0) 4
Information on the fundamental principles of manga and anime will be provided and complementary studies will be carried out on the process of manga and anime production. The studies and/or researches will be interpreted to further improve the design, visual storytelling and animation skills.
ART303 - Design Thinking for Social Sustainability (3 + 0) 4
This course introduces the students to the design thinking process and aims to apply it to challenges related to social sustainability. Definition of watercolour painting media and materials, general information on basic art concepts and relation of watercolour art with other artistic branches, watercolor techniques, main principles and applied watercolour painting techniques, researches on well known watercolour painters, application of watercolour painting techniques.
ART362 - Art of Tile (3 + 0) 4
Historical development and characteristics of tile art, especially in Seljuks and Ottoman Empires, materials used in tile decorations, motifs in tile art, preparing traditional and original motif (figure) studies, transfusing and application of original figures which were created on fritware.
