Course Objectives • This course aims to enhance the students’ language skills and competencies in English in terms of workplace communication skills and help them to apply these skills in professional life. • The students who complete ENG302 can be effective in oral and written interactions in social and business-related environments at level B2 as stated in Common European Framework of Reference.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Reading • identify main ideas and extract specific information in job-related texts, • recognize cause-effect relationships within reading texts, • draw inferences and make predictions based on textual information, • critically analyse job-related texts, • apply appropriate reading strategies according to various text types,
  • Listening • recognize key points and details in business-related oral interactions, • apply critical listening skills effectively by questioning, evaluating, and comparing information with prior knowledge,
  • Speaking • engage in discussions and conduct negotiations using job-related vocabulary appropriately, • initiate and sustain business-related conversations using functional language, • respond appropriately to job-related reading and listening texts by identifying gist and key details, and support their responses with relevant examples, • present a business idea to third parties using various visual methods,
