Course Objectives KAM 420 Violence and Politics undergraduate elective course examines the concept of political violence and discusses it in a broad theoretical discussion. In this context, different conceptualizations and forms of political violence, the conditions for the emergence of political violence, the way it is carried out, the way it is legitimized by different political ideologies or movements is based on the ideas of political thinkers with different perspectives is examined.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Understands the basic concepts of the discipline of political science.
  • Understands the basic theoretical approaches of the discipline of political science.
Course Content Types of violence; legitimacy of violence; violence and civilization; violence and state; violence and social movements.
