Course Objectives The aim of this course is to evaluate the European Union's development process and the paradigms of relations with Turkey and to emphasize the importance of European Union in globalized world economy. The course provides an assessment of Customs Union process between EU-Turkey to the students, in the light of the current economic, political and social developments.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To identify and contrast the key political and economic theories that have been advanced to explain European integration.
  • To analyze the process of economic integration.
  • To describe the EU's governance and compare the roles of its main institutions.
  • To demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the functioning of EU-Turkey Customs Union.
Course Content Operations of the European Union, economic integration types, European Union`s history and the process of integration, the formation of the Customs Union between EU-Turkey, underlying legal decisions of the partnership.
