Course Objectives The course will cover the theories, strategies, and skills and an overall introduction to clinical crisis intervention.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Learn the theories of Crisis Intervention (CI)
  • acquire basic skills necessary to intervene with a crisis situation
  • be familiar with issues related with psychological traumas disaster psychology, natural disasters and violence
  • know how to approach individuals in specific crises
  • know basic ethical principles of crises intervention
Course Content Theories, strategies, and skills in clinical crisis intervention; models for assessing and responding to crises; theoretical and ethical implications; psychological traumas such as post traumatic stress disorder; disaster psychology; natural disasters and violence.
