Course Objectives The main objective of the course is to enable students to understand the language of medicine and to translate various medical texts from English into Turkish and vice versa. The course helps students improve their medical English and translation skills on medical texts. In this course students learn to use medical terminology properly. The texts to be translated are taken from internet resources as well as from professional journals, periodicals and textbooks.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To help the students to become familiar with the medical texts
  • To help the students to become familiar with medical terminology
  • To develop translation skills, analyzing medical texts for translation purposes
  • To improve translation criticism skills.
Course Content All types of medical texts containing grammatical, conceptual domain-specific terminology and their translations.
