Course Objectives This course is designed to provide historical information in the light of political, economic and social developments in the regions for a better understanding of world politics, as well as to provide information on current discussions.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • 1) Gain knowledge about the development of international political history.
  • 2) Have the knowledge to analyze the current international system based on the emergence and continuity of historical events.
  • 3) Know the processes of the emergence of international actors and comprehend the roles they take in the international political system.
  • 4) Have the intellectual and analytical knowledge to conduct discussions that can establish the connection between past political events and current political developments.
Course Content The mechanism of the international system and its role in contemporary international society; the continuity of historical events, changes and innovations in a chronological framework; the developments in international political history starting from the fifteenth century and the reflections of these historical developments in the twenty-first century; the emergence of the actors of the international system.
