  • To understand the relation between welfare economics and public economics
  • To learn the optimal provision of public goods and the models of resource allocation
  • To make the economic analysis of the political preferences and procedures in public decision making
  • To learn the logic and technical procedure of social cost-benefit analysis
  • To understand the neo-classical approach to public economics
Course Content Relation between the state and the public economics in capitalism; linkage between welfare economics and public economics; efficient resource allocation criteria and the relative models; externalities; regulation, deregulation and privatization; social cost-benefit analysis; public choice; bureaucratic production of services; justice and efficiency
