Course Objectives In this course, students continue to learn the text type qualities of EU acquis communautaire texts, their terminological issues and methods and ways to translate acquis communautaire texts from English into Turkish and Turkish into English.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will learn to analyse EU acquis communautaire texts linguistically and extra-linguistically
  • Will learn the terminology specific to EU acquis communautaire text types and EU concepts
  • Will learn to analyse EU acquis communautaire texts for translation purposes
  • Will improve translational skills.
  • Will study and improve methods of translating EU acquis communautaire texts
Course Content Texts regarding relations with the EU; the nature and characteristics of the acquis communautaire; the sources of difficulty in translation of EU texts; EU terminology.
