Course Objectives To analyze the modern Middle Eastern politics, its dynamics and the regional and the international policies of the regional countries.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • to have an understanding of state-formation, socio-ecoonmic structure of the region and the policies of the international powers with regard to the Middle East.
  • to have an understanding of the Arab world, Iran and Israel.
  • Comprehend the similarities and differences in the region
Course Content Political history of the Middle East, economic structure of the Middle East, ethnicity and religion in the Middle East, political Islam, Arab nationalism, Arab-Israeli conflict, September 11 and the Middle East, Turkey and the Middle East, Arab Spring.
