Course Objectives • to familiriaze students with EU’s institutions considering the history of European integration; • to introduce the changes in the institutions of the EU across time; • to acquire knowledge on policy-making in the EU and the role of different institutions on the policy-making referring to various EU policies (e.g., EU’s environment policy, EU’s education policy); and • to familiriaze students specifically the recent institutional structure of the EU, specifially with the Lisbon Treaty.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • to learn EU’s institutional structure in detail
  • understand the operation of the EU referring to the institutional structure and learn the changes made in the institutional structure of the EU across time
  • to understand the policy-making of teh EU and the role of EU institutions in policy-making.
Course Content Introduction to the institutional structure of the EU considering the evolving nature of the EU and its institutions, the operation of the institutions and their role in policy-making focusing on specific policies of the EU, EU-Turkey relations focusing on EU policies and the role of institutions on policy-making.
