Career Counseling
Career counseling means the guiding processes through which our students raise awareness towards their own career development phases, design and plan their future in line with their interests, skills and values and cope with the uncertainties, changes and transitions in the process.
The Directorate of Career Planning and Cooperative Education aims to execute cooperative education at the University to integrate higher education with business world, and contribute to the career development of our students.
Topics on which students may consult the Directorate of Career Planning and Cooperative Education are:
- Creation of individual career goals,
- Self-knowledge, personal strength and weakness awareness development,
- Management of uncertainty and/ or indecision about career goals,
- Details on job/ internship search processes/ techniques,
- Details and assistance regarding CV preparation and job interviews,
- Details and assistance regarding graduate education and academic careers,
- Suggestions regarding skills (language, communication, competence development) to contribute to career development,
- Recommendations on how to manage anxiety and stress towards a career,
- Suggestions on how to spend a certain period of study productively in line with career goals.

You may learn more about the career options regarding your department in your freshman year. We may create a road map for your personal development by helping you discover your fields of interest, skills and tendencies.
In your sophomore year, you may speak to our coordinator to learn more about the skills and competencies required for sectors and departments of your preference, and plan how to improve your skills before your graduation. You may prepare your CV with in-person support at our office and receive information about interview types you may experience. You may also ask questions about your internship, an important step in your career.
In your junior year, you may visit our office to evaluate your possible career options and make a more concrete plan. You may review your updated CV; and learn more about interview types, career portals and use of such portals.
In your senior year, you may visit our office for final reviews on your updated CV, and prepare a cover letter that may be adjusted for various job applications. You may also learn more regarding how to prepare for job interviews, and participate in interview simulations.
