The Child Development Department at Atılım University was established in 2021, with student admissions beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year. Our department offers education in Turkish, and students have the option to undertake one year of preparatory education if they wish.

Child Development is a field that identifies, defines, and plans support programs for factors affecting the continuity and changes observed in the physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional development, as well as self-care skills of children who are developing age-appropriately during infancy (0-2 years), early childhood (2-6 years), school age (6-11 years), and adolescence (11-18 years), children with special needs, those in need of protection, those at risk, and those with health problems. It provides services with an interdisciplinary approach.

Child Development aims to provide services with an interdisciplinary approach by evaluating the child's physical, functional, and participation levels within their environment and working with their family and other professionals who provide services to them.

Like many other fields that provide direct services to people, the education in Child Development is a practice-oriented field alongside theory. The priority in our education process, where student and academician communication is essential, is the active participation of each student in academic studies for their professional development.
