Laboratories
Hydromechanics Laboratory
Students carry out experiments to examine movements and flow behaviors of fluids in order to support subjects lectured in CE 307 Fluid Mechanics and CE 310 Hydraulics Engineering courses. It equipped with devices to conduct research and analyses on the design and construction of water reservoir, transportation and distribution buildings.
Strength of Materials Laboratory
The Laboratory examines the effects of single and/or combined loads on the patterns that substitute supporting construction elements and the resistance and behaviors of such supporting systems against these loads. It is equipped with necessary apparatus and models to carry out these experiments.
Topography Laboratory
The Laboratory is equipped with the optical devices and other tools such as 10 Total Station, 5 Nivelman set, tape measure, plumb line and water level device for land measuring studies.
These equipment are used by our students to conduct measurements for proper positioning of buildings. Students also draw maps and sections, measure angles and distances, and determine coordinates and elevations in order for structural positioning.
Transportation and Road Materials Laboratory
The Laboratory examines mechanical, physical and chemical features of aggregates, asphalt and mixtures used in the construction of land transportation structures. Students test the compliance of materials with specifications and/or standards and carry out experiments to improve material quality.
Building Materials Laboratory
The Laboratory focuses on mechanical, physical and chemical features of the materials used in constructions. Students test the compliance of materials with specifications and/or standards and carry out experiments to improve material quality.
Structural Mechanics Laboratory
The Laboratory studies on bearing load capacity, load deformation and behaviors of columns, beams and combination of them. Students test materials, mixtures of different materials and behaviors of them.
Soil Mechanics Laboratory
The Laboratory classifies and examines the mechanical, physical and resistance features of the soil patterns, and test soil properties for the interaction of the constructions using the geological research reports and patterns taken from the field.
