Purpose and Scope

This program aims to support projects executed by Atılım University as the executive institution that are R&D projects based on external funds for faculty members (excluding projects with industrial contracts), by full-time faculty members or students of Atılım University.

The main purpose of the program is to provide support for projects through University resources within certain limits in order to achieve additional benefits that will contribute to the successful completion of the project, or in cases where the budget of the externally supported project falls insufficient.

Procedures and Principles

  1. The existing full-time faculty members, and students of Atılım University, as well as academic staff members who are starting out at the University, or having their externally-supported projects (other than those supported by Universities) transferred to Atılım University may benefit from the program.
  2. In order to request a budget from the RAF program, an unforeseen additional purchase must occur in the ongoing project, or budget support must be provided by Atılım University for the start of the relevant externally supported project, or the budget must be insufficient for the existing items to be purchased. A total RAF support of up to 10% of the total budget amount of the ongoing project may be requested. This rate may be increased in the case of externally-supported projects where the support to be provided by Atılım University is required/ mandatory to start and continue the project.
  3. The project executive is required to elaborate why additional support is needed, and the benefits to be seized from the project if the support is provided, in their written application.
  4. Support requests must be directly related to the project subject.
  5. If the Presidency and the Board of Trustees deem it appropriate to provide support, the relevant RAF program shall mean the following:
    1. Machinery and equipment related to the ongoing externally supported project will be covered, provided that the reason is stated. The devices in the machinery and equipment requests planned to be purchased with the RAF program must not be already registered in the fixed assets of the University.
    2. Costs for materials, tools, testing equipment etc. related to ongoing externally-supported projects are covered, if justified.
    3. Transportation and travel expenses for field work within or outside the city within the scope of the project are covered within specified limits, provided that they are documented. The relevant field work is required to be explained in detail.
    4. Invitation, accommodation, and organization expenses within the scope of the RAF program are not covered.
    5. Participation expenses for events such as conferences, symposiums, or congresses, and travel expenses within the scope of the RAF program are not covered.
    6. Within the scope of the RAF program, support may be granted to scholars with certain qualifications participating in the project.
    7. The project budget must be prepared taking into account the prices that include the VAT for domestic purchases. For foreign purchases, the FOB value (only in foreign currencies) must be specified.
    8. Suggestions for project expenses within the scope of the RAF program other than the items above are evaluated by the Presidency and, if deemed appropriate, may be accepted with the approval of the Board of Trustees.
    9. If there are 2 months left until the end of an ongoing externally supported project, the RAF program may not apply.
    10. Applications may only be made once for an ongoing project within the scope of the RAF program.
