Technological Infrastructure

At the center of the developments in science and technology, our University extends its investments so that our students and staff can follow and utilize technology closely and obtain necessary knowledge. 
For this purpose, wireless internet connection is available in all indoor and outdoor areas through EDUROAM and Atılım Wi-Fi .
Atilim University is a member of National Academic Network (ULAKNET)’ which provides service to all universities in Turkey. Our University procures MethroEthernet service having 150 Mbps band width from Turk Telekom and utilizes the capacity, which have 30 Mbps band width, by means of the infrastructure of ULANAKNET. Total connection capacity of our university has 180 Mbps band width.
Atilim University enables our students and administrative/academic staff to benefit from corporate service by utilizing technological infrastructure of our University. Additionally, e-mail addresses are necessary for students to benefit from proxy service and use the computers in computer lab.
All student, administrative/academic staff, department/unit/center & office information, electronic business processes and Business Intelligence reports of Atilim University are available at Student Information system (SIS) and Atilim Information System (ATIS), which is a corporate information infrastructure.
Students follow their academic processes called "Higher Education Life Cycle” including course registration, course addition/removal, checking grades, passing courses, completing an academic year and graduation etc. via SIS application.
Instructors follow their academic processes such as counseling, courses, examinations, exam evaluation, grading etc. via SIS application.

Atilim University Kadriye Zaim Library has been providing service since March 2013 in its new building. Symphony Library Automation Software, proxy service, self-check system for circulation and similar modern technological opportunities are provided to researchers and our students. In line with the developments in science and technology, our library services are provided online so that our students can conduct their research related to their education in a non-spatial way.
Symphony Library Automation Software (
Developed in a modular framework, the software has a real-time and integrated structure in terms of its all functions and services. The system is web-based and enables to carry out all transactions online. It is an independent and web-based platform; therefore, it is possible to access the software anywhere across the world. It is totally MARC-based and provides standard features of globally accepted library automation software.
Symphony is operated with Linux operating system, and thus, it is more secure against all kinds of pirate attacks than other operating systems and enables users to do their transactions fast and properly thanks to its database. In addition, the firewall integrated in this system supports its reliability. The system also has multiple-user and multiple-language options.

•          Detailed authorization and access limitation for authorized and unauthorized user

•          Entering and tracking information about periodicals

•          Bibliography preparation and printing
Remote Access to Academic Databases; it is possible to get remote access to the databases of our University by means of proxy server. Researchers can access proxy server through their Atilim e-mail account access information.
Circulation and Self-Check System
The system is integrated with library automation software.  It provides fast and secure transactions for readers. The system works in coordination and integration with Symphony automation software and records all transactions to the software simultaneously. The system starts circulation transactions with the bar code number of the materials.
Readers do circulation transaction by checking reader information and material information in the automation software. Thanks to its multiple-material detection, it does not allow to circulate more than one material with one bar code. The receipt printed out by the printer of the system after the transaction include several information such as return date, number of other sources circulated by the user, circulation date, number of reserved sources, etc. Users may receive the receipt via e-mail, upon request. All transactions are carried out on a color touch screen and its graphic design leads users.
Consequently, 3M Self-Check System offers all services necessary to facilitate library operation and circulation services.
Users can do circulation and return transactions on their own by using their library accounts given after they enroll in the library.
3M Self-Check System has enhanced effectiveness and service quality of the library.
Door Security System 
The door security system is developed with an electro-magnetic technology and enables to make fine tuning. All electronic circuits are on the system. Library use statistics are counted on the digital counter embedded on the panel.  Digital screen displays system error codes and the number of alarms.
The sources which are not circulated by a user cannot be taken out of the library thanks to this system. In case of the circulation of non-recorded sources alarm system is activated and each alarm is recorded.
Corporate and Open Archive
It is a database containing the sequence of services through which the documents produced in our University are collected, stored, indexed, protected and distributed digitally. Conferences are uploaded to the system with their video records, photos and texts.
Articles written by our academic staff and theses of our University are shared in the system with the permission of their writers. 806 data have been shared in the system. The website uses CMS and masthead infrastructure.
National Collective Catalogue (TO-KAT)
TO-KAT has been created by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey - National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM).  University libraries in Turkey can be searched via one interface although they have different catalogs and automation systems than that of TO-KAT. Online access is free.
In order to extend inter-library cooperation and source share across the country, National Collective Catalogue containing collection information of all libraries in Turkey has assured that library services have been developed focusing on citizens/researchers.
TO-KAT makes it possible to search the libraries which have the sources related with research and access websites and library automation systems of relevant libraries.
Founded in 2008 to meet lifelong learning needs of individuals at different levels by means of technology, Atilim University Distance Education Office offers world class education quality with its master’s degree and associate degree programs.
Smart Class and Content Development Studios founded within the body of the Office which enhances its technical infrastructure to provide better service for our students make professional video-lecture record first time in Turkey thanks to its Green Box studio infrastructure.
Green Box technology allows you to create a world class virtual studio, HD image and professional voice records and fiction and animation services. Green Box makes it possible to process and convert Video Course applications which are new trend across the world in Distance Education, Mobile Education and Co-education disciplines so that they can be viewed in HD quality by means of all kinds of devices with Internet connection (laptops, smart phones, tablets and smart TVs).
Through this technology, it is possible to send the information on the smart board, voice and general view of classroom to any user across the world via the Internet. All processes carried out in the smart classes requiring problem solving, numerical analysis and graphical presentation can be recorded in HD quality. In-service trainings, orientation and special presentations requiring technological support can be prepared in the smart class with its capacity up to 11 users. Common course cooperation to be conducted with national and international universities provides opportunity to broadcast course content from one location to multiple locations for the users in other cities.
MPADs being produced at our University contribute to the education of our students in terms of mobile education.
The aim of Mobile Education Project, which has been launched to create technologies which will enable our students to access all kind of information they need during their education life immediately, is to assure that our students are in connection with the University all the time, can access educational systems anytime, anywhere, to increase education level and interest in courses and create national network of Atilim University. Our students can follow their courses anywhere across the world by means of project products, reinforce their technical knowledge with practice by involving in the production of mPADs and gain experience about professional business life during their education.
The tablet computer of which latest version was produced this year within the scope of the project is called mPAD03.
