Fostering and Adoption Panel

Fostering and Adoption in the light of the Best Interest of the Child Panel organized with the cooperation of Atilim University and KOREV (Foster Family, Adoption Association) brought adoptive and foster parents, academicians and students together. 

Ulku Aydeniz (Foster Mother - Chairperson of KOREV), Duygu Caglar Gizli (Adoptive Parent), Ozlem Tok Kizildag (Director of Foster Families Department, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies), Instructor Mine Cihanoglu (Department of Psychology, Atilim University) and Asst. Prof. Kumru Kilicoglu Yilmaz (Faculty of Law, Atilim University) participated in the panel to deliver a speech on important subjects. 

Besides Zerlin Zaim, Board of Trustees Member of Atilim University and Ahmet Okur, Deputy General Manager of Child Services, Ministry of Family and Social Families, representatives of a large number of institutions and organizations attended the panel as audience. 

Ahmet Okur, Deputy General Manager of Child Services made the opening speech of the panel in which legal, sociological and psychological perspective of Fostering and Adoption processes was analyzed. Chairperson of KOREV, Ulku Aydeniz and Duygu Caglar Gizli interpreted fostering and adoption within the frame of their personal experiences and through psychological and social perspectives.  Director of Foster Families Department, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Ozlem Tok Kizildag gave detailed information about the studies conducted in this field and enlightened the audience on the needs and objectives and current legal and social circumstances, as well.

The presentation of Asst. Prof. Kumru Yilmaz Kilicoglu on legal status and needs and Mine Cihanoglu’s contributions on psychological level attracted the attention of the audience. The panel showing a good example of intense participation and interest continued with Q&A section.
