The Actors of Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Came Together

Empowering Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Leaders: Theory and Action” workshop was held with the partnership of Atilim University, University of Reading and Ostim Teknopart and support of British Council at Kemal Zaim Sunel Conference Hall between 02-05 October 2017.

In order to establish a new cooperation between Turkey and England, 15 researchers participated in the workshop from each country. In the beginning, the researchers were informed about the problems of entrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey. In the first day of the workshop, the main actors of the ecosystem -entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and initiators- came together and shared current problems from their own perspective. Later on, the experts from the funding organizations Ankara Development Agency, the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, KOSGEB and TUBITAK were on the stage. After hearing the problems, researchers created group projects in order to seek solutions for 4 days.

The main subjects of the projects were commercialization, marketing, challenges of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship training system. Asst. Prof. Elif Kalaycı, instructor at the Department of Economics and one of the executives of the project, said that “we hope that the workshop will bring out some developments which will contribute academic studies and solve ecosystem problems.
